The website is looking less empty, finally.  I just changed some things around and added things.  One of which is photos from the last Spiral event, A Very Spiral Krampus Party.  Which, I should add, went very well and was a great time.  Thanks so much to everyone who came out, and to everyone who donated canned goods and/or blankets.

Anyway, we have some great ideas brewing for this year.  I won’t get into it just yet, but check back soon for announcements.  We’re also working on getting Columns, Issue #5 out in the next month.  If you have anything you’d like to submit, please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you and publish your writings or artwork.

Spiral Collective has organized a second event finally!   Bands, art, food, and fun!  There’s also a wall open for a sort of “hang ‘em if you got ‘em” paintings/artwork.  So if you want something to be shown that night at the event, just send an email to visual@spiralcollective.org with the size of your piece and contact info.  There will also be a food and blanket drive, and raffle.  For each non-perishable food item you bring, you get one raffle ticket.  So bring a bunch!!  More chances to win!  And if you bring a blanket, those are going to be worth more raffle tickets… like three or five, we haven’t decided yet.  So donate away!  The raffle prizes are gift certificates to such awesome Lowell businesses as Life Alive, Brew’d Awakening, and Blue Taleh.  Check out the flyer.

Well I took the first step in really getting the website rolling again by creating the “photos” page.  You can check out some random photos as well as a ton from the first Spiral event, at the 119 Gallery.  Speaking of which, there will soon be another event that we’ll be holding at the 119 Gallery at the end of the month.  I’ll be updating the site with all the details of that one soon.  For now, I’ll just say that it’ll be the evening of Sunday December 27th… so mark your calendars and come have a good time.  Check back soon for more updates.

Issue #4 of Columns was finally just released the other day.  You can read it online, or find it in some downtown Lowell establishments such as Brew’d Awakening and Life Alive.  We’ve all been pretty busy, so not a whole lot has been happening in other areas of the collective, but hopefully that will be changing soon.  For starters, I’ll be spending some more time getting the website completed.  And of course writing for Issue #5 of Columns has already begun.  And as always, we encourage you to submit your writings to be published in Columns.  Just email us or mail it to our PO Box.

So a new month has arrived and like a poorly working clock, a new issue of Columns has come. There are some lovely articles by some lovely people and a completely bitchin’ cover from Rosa. Check it out at Brew’d, Life Alive, and Groovy Grub soon.
